1 Star Absolutely the worst anti-virus I’ve used
AVG is the most obtrusive piece of software I have on my computer–I know that most anti-virus systems do need a lot of latitude to work, but this one is ridiculous! I realized the other day that I’ve stopped using my computer to do quick checks of things like what the weather report for tomorrow is, or do a quick check of my email before I go to bed, because I know that AVG will take 5-10 minutes to “start” (it will down load something, then it will need to update something, then it will start a scan that I don’t want to start, — etc. I’ve watched AVG sucking the system resources and CPU time from my computer on the task manager window).

As an example of the AVG philosophy I went to their website to “complain” and filled out a form they supplied. As soon as I “hit” the submit button AVG went into a “gathering system data mode” to submit with the “complaint”(without my permission)–it also bought up a message that read; “THIS MAY TAKE A FEW MINUTES” which it did– TYPICAL. When completed I noticed that the system data gathered had been “prefixed” to my “complaint” but the “system info” was so long that is caused my customer input/complaint to be truncated/pushed off the bottom of the form. This is TYPICAL AVG!!!!

Save yourself lots of time and headaches–buy something else!!!!

2 Stars My exp. with the free version
The AVG free version does not rid your system of every bad file on it. If you have say 150 malicious ware, AVG free version will probably expell about 50 out of that. I still had so many pop ups and slow computer performance. Avg has annoying pop ups that gives you options whether to delete a bad file, quarantine, ignore etc. So you click remove or quarantine and it prompts you to restart your computer. You do everything it tells you and guess what? That same annoying pop up box keeps showing up even though you asked to remove it. A full system scan takes me about 1.5 hours and afterwards I’m still bombarded with spyware. I suspect the pay version just removes a tad more files but not too much different.

5 Stars Don’t want viruses or spyware on your machine. AVG is the answer!
AVG software is the best antivirus/ antispyware available. We use it at our office after Norton didn’t catch 9 or 10 viruses on our computers…..We went to AVG and after 2 years NO VIRUSES OR SPYWARE ON our computers + the price and 2 years subscription is unbeatable. I feel our network is protected from deadly viruses and Trojan horses. If you want protect, you need AVG.

The product is ok however, it is way over priced, McAffee and BitDefender are better and they are alot cheaper.

I recently purchased this item and found it to be very satisfactory for my needs. I’m 83 years old and what you might call Computer Illiterate. I found this software easy to Load and scanned my system finding no problems. I gave this program 4 stars ,will probably up that evaluation later on if it continues to preform as it has since installing it on my system. I am well pleased with this product and would recommend it to anyone looking for Virus Protection.

1 Star Bit Defender bad choice
After researching and reading good things about it I decided I would try BitDefender Internet Security for my brand new laptops. As soon as I installed it, both of the computers started crashing with the blue screen. This all stopped as soon as I removed it.

The update for my Bitdefender Intenet Security 2009 recently malfuctioned. I tried to call the customer support line. I was told told by the automated answering machine to call 1-954-928-2780. I held for several minutes until a phone rang and rang with no answer. I have attempted to contact them on thier chat but I redirected to email which has me sign in over and over. Bitdefender’s customer support will not be there for you when you require it so be cautious whn you purchase this product and you will not get any USA support.

I have a CPU and my wife has a laptop. I am very happy with the virus protection. It does not slow my computer and works great. My wife is not happy with it. Her laptop runs much slower and the virus check comes on more than once a day. She is thinking about removing Bitdefender and reinstalling her old virus program.

5 Stars Great Product and Right Price
A great piece of software and the price is right especially if you have several computers.

In order for it to work properly you should remove all other virus, malware and firewall programs

before you install.

Microsoft Defender seemed to cause a problem, so remove it.

My computer sure runs smooth with this program. You hardly know it’s there at all.

Bottom line….I like it!

4 Stars Jerry’s BitDefender Review
The only problem I have with this software is that it will not load during startup. I have to load it manually. I believe it is essential that this type of software be loaded at startup. I am attempting to resolve the issue with the manufacturer.

Got this software right when it came out and it’s everything Consumer Reports said it was. My PC is running like new… in fact better than new. Norton was slowing the thing down terribly. It also found a slew of viruses that Norton did not find. The other features like the gaming mode and file vault make this software a bargain. Definitely worth the #1 ranking!

I purchased this product about a month ago and have been very pleased. It was easy to install and set up.It does take a long time to do a full system scan but if you set it to run in the middle of the night you’ll have no problems. I researched a lot of internet security programs before buying Bitdefender and I think it is the best for the money and Amazon beat everyone’s price.

1 Star Wouldn’t Update with dial-up
Gave it to my Daughter, because I have dial-up and tech-support told me it would not update all updates with dial-up. Had an error and did what tech-support said and still had an error. Second time I’ve tried bitdefender and no luck.
