5 Stars Like this internet security software
2009 looks clean and sharp compared to their 2008 version. Easy software to install and easy to use. Have had Trend Micro Internet security for 5 years now and wouldn’t go to another ani-virus software.

5 Stars internet security
When purchasing this product it is important to know that if you purchase a 2008 version it will update to 2009. Listing what kind of security the security provides. The provider did. The product was on time and in good condition.

4 Stars Good Product
This product was highly recommended from others who are

using it. I would have to agree, that it is less expensive

and seems to operate less obtrusivly than other well known

products I have used in the past.

2 Stars conflicts with Outlook email
This program is ineffective at spam prevention. Since I get dozens of spam emails per day but perhaps one virus encounter per year, this program is a failure for me.

Here’s the issue: according to Microsoft, you can configure Outlook to download emails from multiple email accounts and use Outlook’s “rules” functionality to sort the emails into various folders (a different inbox folder for each email account that you are checking). TrendMicro’s AntiSpam feature conflicts with that Microsoft-recommended use of Outlook. Specifically, because the AntiSpam functionality conflicts with the Outlook rules, you will end up with all your spam DUPLICATED in your email folders and none will be eliminated.

There are far superior antispam programs that are actually written to be compatible with Outlook rules. For example, search online for Spam Reader. Not only does it eliminate spam and not conflict with Outlook rules, but it has a much nicer user interface that puts a big company like TrendMicro to shame.

When I contacted TrendMicro customer support about how their program was creating duplicate copies of all the spam, it took six interactions via email before they got around to saying the duplication problem “cannot be avoided”. (The other suggestions were amusingly unhelpful: Modify network protocol settings related to sending mass emails! Turn off TrendMicro! Realize you just have different people sending you the same spam message at the same instant!)

1 Star Viruses Not Stopped - Twice!
I’ve been using Trend Micro for two years now. It used to be all I recommended for friends and family. Recently, this program has become inept, for the second time in a year, allowing my computer to become infected with very hard-to-remove Trojan Viruses.

This virus wouldn’t allow windows updates, redirected my browsers, wiped out every restore point I ever had, and even deleted the administrator’s email account. They suggested I download and use their system cleaner, but that even failed to initialize.

Trend Micro’s chat support was completely useless, and so was there phone support. One phone support tech told me, “oh that’s a window’s problem”, and refused to help me. I downloaded Microsoft Windows Defender for free, which immediately quarantined the “Vundo” out of my system32 folder. It has finally been removed. I’ve written Trend Micro, who has refused to respond to me.

5 Stars Trend Micro is a great Poduct,Try it You’ll like it!
Many products are given a bad review because many people either don’t have their PC’S running in good condition.Too many conflicts or are not set up properly! They are going to have more conflicts when they install a new product. Some Pc’s are out dated and cannot operate the newer products on the Market. So Bad Ratings! When you read a review, read the intelligence of the Person into the review.Don’t listen to those who always find that nothing works. If it makes sense listen to the reviews that make sense. If I listen to every review I wouldn’t buy any Products. Many products I have purchased have had bad reviews, but also some good reviews.Good reviews should be taken seriously.Reviews are good if they know what their talking about! You be the Judge of that.Trend Micro has always worked for me.

3 Stars Happy with product, but…
I have been using Trend Micro Internet Security since 2006 and I have been happy with the product as long as I have not needed to contact the company. My first problem was 2 years ago when the Protect Private Information feature stopped accepting new information after 20 entries. After spending a lot of time trying to debug with their support staff and reinstalling the program twice at their direction, the 4th technician told me the feature was functioning normally. It is limited to 20 entries. The latest aggravation is that I bought Internet Security Pro for a new computer, and I was informed by email that my old subscription for the computer no longer being used would auto renew if I didn’t click a link and opt out. I clicked the link and opted out. I received an acknowledgement of the cancellation from Trend Micro. After that, I was informed repeatedly by email that my subscription would auto renew if I didn’t opt out, and I responded to each that I wanted to cancel. Eventually, they renewed my subscription and charged my card against my wishes. The website directs you to a phone number where a recording directs you to the website. They have support chat on the website which took more than 2 hours to get a reply even though it said that I was the only person in the queue. When I did get a reply on chat, I was given a website address where I could file my claim. I copied the address to an email. When I logged off the chat line, my computer locked up and had to be restarted, so I lost the website address. I have not been able to make further contact and have not received any reply to emails sent through their website. It is ironic that I am paying this company to be protected from this kind of abuse.

3 Stars Decent security suite but requires annual license and pro features are not really great
3.5 Stars

The trend Micro Internety Security Pro is a decent security option when compared to Norton or Mcaffe but honestly the pro features are really not worth the additional money. The only pro feature that seems really worthwhile is the ability to remotely lock your files (in case your computer is ever stolen) but otherwise the Network status and Antivirus reports are more gimicky than true pro tools

*** Positive Points Include: ***

- Easy installation

- 3 user license so you can use it on 3 computers in your home

- Good security without using excess resources

*** Negative Points Include: ***

- Must purchase the virus updates after a year (AVG and others allow free antivirus updates)

- Pro features are not really worthwhile

3 Stars Slows down computer considerably, TMIS 09
I have been using trend micro since 2006, and so it only makes sense I bought TMIS 09 in amazon. Then I read some concerns from reviewers, and so while I waited for it to arrive I tried the trial version. Boy, tmis09 slows down my comp considerably for some reason, like it’s some sort of memory hog. I could tell my comp slows down esp when doing internet browsing (3-5sec slower).

I mean, the other security features works good (safe page indicator, antispam and antivirus), but it all comes down to internet browsing speed for me. Amazon is nice enough to refund the unopened tmis09 plus return s&h. I bought norton internet security 2009 from amazon, and this year version seems works perfectly for me.

Try the trial version before you decide to get trend micro internet security 2009 (look in trend micro website).

5 Stars Trend Micro Internet Security Pro
This is my third up-date for Trend Micro Internet Security Software.

It has handled many attempted attacks on my computers, but I have not suffered any damage or loss of data or capability. I heartily recommend it to other computer users.
