Logitech Dual Action Game Pad USB

The Logitech Dual Action Gamepad… it’s the ultimate precision instrument, whether you’re going for the tackle, the kill, the gold, or the finish line. The comfortable grip keeps you at the top of your game for hours of play, and the familiar design and layout of the action buttons and triggers will have you dominating in no time.

User Ratings and Reviews

2 Stars wears out too easy
I have to agree with other reviewers that the D-pad and analog sticks seem to wear out too soon. I guess that’s what you get for a $20 product…

5 Stars Don’t know what the problem is..
Yet again, my controller looks slightly different than the one pictured on Amazon. It’s great to play ROMS on, as well as other games, as it has a Playstation feel that is suitable for any game. It’s especially good for a laptop.

But I see that many do not like this. I got mine at Best Buy, so like I said with that DVD player many years ago, make sure you get it from a good vendor and you’ll be on your way to freedom for the keyboard.

2 Stars Doesn’t work with CoD Modern Warfare
I bought it for Modern Warfare and it’s not even recognized! So, I guess it’s off to try another. At least Amazon has an easy return policy. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 b/c it probably works with something.

4 Stars Great plug and play control for any PC.
I used this controller without issue on both a Windows and Linux machine and it works great in both environments. Does not feel cheap in the hands and seems pretty sturdy. My only complaint is with the D-pad; the buttons are set higher making it a little funny to work with and the buttons are loud.

2 Stars Great Quality… For a While
I bought this controller a while ago when I bought Halo 2 for the PC. It worked great.

After that game was over and done with it sat unused until I decided to buy Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts for the PC. It worked great until a few weeks ago. The left analog stick began to “stick” in certain positions. Now, it just refuses to work.

This is great for your occasional PC gamer, but if you intend to use it for long periods of time then I’d suggest buying something else.

Logitech G11 Gaming Keyboard Black Silver

The Logitech G11 gaming keyboard features blue-backlit characters, 18 programmable G keys, and convenient media control buttons so you can play all night long. Create custom macros for your games and access them with a single keystroke. Reduce clutter by routing cables through the convenient under-keyboard channels. Swap gaming controls easily by plugging into the two full-speed USB ports. And never worry about getting dropped out of the action if you press the Windows key; the built-in Gaming Mode switch disables it with one touch.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Great keyboard
altough wide, my keyboard drawer has enough room on it + for my mouse pad too. my only gripe is that it doesnt have email/document/SLEEP buttons. eh, ol well. love the way the keys feel when typing too.

5 Stars Logitech’s keyboard a WOW delight
In spite of being geeky enough to covet every piece of electronics known to mankind, I am still simple enough to actually want my installs to be easy. Installing this keyboard was a no-brainer. Its glowy blue keys are beautiful in the dark; which improves my game’s graphics experience. And it has 18 programmable keys on its left side, which can be pre-set up for macros and keystrokes on up to 3 different games. The keys all have a nice “feel” to them. I really LOVE this product.

5 Stars Best in class
I bought this keyboard as a gift for my son, who is a gamer, and extremely picky about his keyboard and mouse. He had already purchased a different lighted keyboard, but decided he preferred this one (by far) after using one at a friend’s house. His favorite feature was the additional keys for macros and his only complaint was the lack of color options for the backlight.

5 Stars It’s all about the “G” keys.
I play a lot of Warcraft and got tired of some of the repetitive key/button sequences. Like mounting and unmounting. Sure, I could attach a macro to a numeric key, but there’s only one row of them and all six sets of bindings are used. Now I have more. More is better.

I don’t really care about the lighted keys, but I absolutely love the 18 G keys. Oh yeah, I had to get a CyberPower High-Speed 7-Port USB Hub to power the thing. My computer sits a fair distance away so the noise doesn’t bother me and the G11 has too short of a USB cord.

2 Stars Nice until it broke
The good points of this product have been touched on in other reviews. I will not rehash them here.

I owned this keyboard for approximately 3 months. It operated well, although I did have problems with the amount of desk real estate it required - it is a large keyboard. This is a minor issue, however. The main problem I had is that one day the number keys refused to work. It isn’t a software issue, as I’ve tried it on other computers with no success. I’ve owned other Logitech products and they are nice until they break after a few months. I’ve bought 2 headsets, this keyboard, and a mouse that periodically glitches on me from Logitech. With the shoddy performance I have experienced I can’t recommend their products to anyone.

    5 Stars NICE PROUDUCT!
free shipping and it only takes about week of delivery , and i can say this is the best mouse i ever own, fast and reliable!

and i would’ve like to pay more , but the price is jus fair enough to buy, i would highly recommend this mouse to any gamers in the world~

    5 Stars Logitech G9
Logitech’s G9 laser mouse is possibly the best mouse I’ve ever had to date. It’s extremely accurate, which is a must for both headshots and for the graphics work that I do. The buttons are all nice and clicky and very responsive, and overall the mouse appears to be well- constructed. Read on if you’d like to know more.

The on-the-fly DPI adjuster comes in pretty handy, though you might just find a sensitivity level you like and stick to it. The mousewheel is another interesting feature, as you can shift it between normal mode for games and applications that make use of each individual ‘click’ of the wheel, and flywheel mode for scrolling rapidly. The button for ’shifting’ as it were is located on the base of the mouse, so its a little awkward to get to, but it keeps it from shifting on accident at the very least.

The weight system is a little dubious in its usefulness in my opinion, but I like my devices to be weighty so I made it as heavy as a could. There is some difference in handling between a heavy and a light mouse, however, so you might want to play with it. The weights themselves come in a cool aluminum box.

The swappable grips are another cool feature. One is larger and wider with a soft, smooth finish that’s designed to fit a little better in your palm. The other is more narrow and shallow, with a rough finish that’s easy to hold in a sort of “claw” grip. Personally I prefer the latter type, as my long fingers have always made it easier to hold a mouse with that claw grip. As a bonus, the rough texture also helps to keep my hand from sweating. Regardless of the grip you use, switching between them is incredibly easy and tool-less, so you can spend all the time you want testing them out. Keep in mind that both grips are designed to facilitate accurate, swift hand movements, and aren’t designed to be as ergonomically comfortable as, say, the MX revolution.

3 Stars It’s rather small for people with big hands.
Pros - A lot of cool features like the weight control, on-the-mouse dpi control, and being able to change the LED to the color you want. And it looks awesome.

Cons - It might not be best for people with big hands. I used to own a bigger mouse until I bought this one, and maybe i’m just having trouble getting used to it, but it’s pretty uncomfortable. My pinky and the finger for rings touches the mouse pad I have, which is only one more finger touching the mouse pad (only pinky hang out of the mouse) compared to my old one. It might not make much sense, but depending on how you play your games, it makes a big difference.

If size of the mouse is crucial to you, go to store and actually look at the mouse’s size. That’s what I should have done, but unfortunately I never owned a mouse that is small as this one.

    5 Stars G9
    great mouse

    lots of futures

    comfort

    and easy to use

4 Stars Has the best wheel I’ve used.
Finally logitech gets it right with their mouse wheel. The old logitech mice wheels were usually *ok*, but after a while would lose their accuracy and misunderstand when you were scrolling or not scrolling.

The new G9 though has the best wheel I’ve seen on a mouse. It has two modes of operation, which you can toggle on/off by a physical switch on the bottom side of the mouse. What makes this mouse great is both the quality of the wheel, as well as the fact that you can toggle between “clicked” scrolling and smooth scrolling. For gaming I always switch to clicked scrolling, for precise weapon changing; but then when I’m working or programming, I switch to smooth scrolling. With the smooth scrolling the wheel will continue to spin until you stop it or it runs out of energy. This makes scrolling through long documents really easy (and less noisy).

All in all, definitely a solid mouse, and is very useful for both gaming and non-gaming. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 due to the somewhat high price.

Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Joystick Silver Black

Take complete control with the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick. Its 12 fully programmable buttons give you an incredible amount of flexibility and performance for the gaming-edge you’ve been looking for. The precise twist handle (for rudder control) includes an 8-way rubber hat switch that is similar to ones found in real combat aircrafts. Throttle controls rotate smoothly for extraordinary control. And the stable, extra heavy weighted base keeps you firmly grounded. The sleek design looks hot, too!

    User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars improved my game dramatically
Very easy to use. I had no idea of what joystick to buy. I’m very happy I bought this one.

5 Stars It is well worthy! Nice to play with!
I have already had a experance about this joystick before! I am a student pilot,I found it wooks well. With flight 2004,I can take it as a simple simulator. It has force feed back and the rudder control !

4 Stars Logitech Extreme 3D Pro
Great Joystick for the price. This is my second one. First one after several years lost the handle twist action functionality, but otherwise worked great. And at this price I don’t mind buying another occasionally.

4 Stars great for my uses
i dont like how thin the base is cause i use it on my lap, but everything else works great, calibrated perfect, works with all my gta series great!

    5 Stars a excellent joystick
The Logitech Extreme 3D Pro is a large, sturdy and precise joystick. You cant find a better flight controller in this price range. It has 10 programmabe buttons, a trigger, a button for rockets or missiles, a 8 way hat switch and a dedicated throttle. The handle also has one more function and that is to twist left or right for which I use for rudder control. Overall it is fun to use, easy to learn, assign functions and excellent in normal flight or aerial combat.

    Razer Tarantula Gaming Keyboard

The Razer Tarantula Gaming Keyboard is the first definitive keyboard created For Gamers, By Gamers. A cutting-edge companion to Razer’s suite of gaming peripherals, it is specially engineered to empower competitive gamers with seamless control and unparalleled flexibility.

    User Ratings and Reviews

2 Stars A Pretty big let down
I was really excited to get this keyboard, now I wish I had bought something else.

    1. The whole keyboard doesn’t light up. (but you probably knew that)

    2. It takes 2 usb ports just to run.

    3. Probably won’t work until windows boots up. (good luck with your bios)

    4. The software for this thing is horrible. Seems razor is more interested in marketing and looking cool than producing something functional.

    5. Profile key is worthless. You should be able to set up 2 profiles and toggle between them with the profile key. I tried to setup a simple profile to disable the windows key. The only time it works is when the configuration program is loaded and running in the background.

    6. Home, end, delete pg up and pg down keys are not in a standard layout.

    7. It’s expensive.

3 Stars Not worth the money.
Just got it, so no say on durability yet. May update later about it.

    The good points are:

    {

    its shiny black.

can press more than 3 keys at once and have them register.

    has easily pressed keys.

    has reprogrammable keys.

media keys, and a port for expansions.

    has a shuffle list key.

can bind programs to macro keys.

profile key can be used with other keys to cycle profiles.

friendly tech support, with some helpful tips. they haven’t seemed to have gotten around to outsourcing their techs, so i can actually understand what they say to me.

a tool for popping out keys so i dont have to pull out a butter knife or something. (how i broke the space bar on my g15 while trying to clean it.)

    }

    the bad.

    {

the audio/headphone ports require that the keyboards headphone/microphone jacks to be plugged into the pc. while many would say duh, that makes sense. i’d reply why have them unless i just feel like having my headphones closer to the keyboard?

also it DOES need 2 usb ports to be used fully. basically that extra line gives two usb ports connected to the keyboard. so really only 1 extra usb port gained.

as another review posted, the keyboard’s play/pause DOES NOT WORK with winamp. it does w/o the software drivers. but after its just screwed. had to resort to using windows media player *shivers*. the keyboard actually functions better with media players without the driver/software.

the media keys DO NOT WORK with anything other than the selected player. why they decided to go from the universal controls, i have no bloody clue. i used to be able to go to any player i wished, and have it work. no software needed.

the media keys are not movable, or reprogrammable. i dont like having to take my mouse hand off the action to swap songs. would be much better if the keys were movable/remapped.

can not bind any keys/macros to use home/delete/windows etc etc. can’t insert them, cant move around anything. can’t click the times in milliseconds to modity them if dont want the standard timing.

now for the anti ghosting. yes, you can press 10 keys at once. sadly only 6 of them ever work for me. that is with the software installed too. granted 6 is better than 3, which i hardly did more than anyhow. i unfortunately wield usb 1.0 ports on my pc, so that is probrably why. not likely to ever use more than 6 keys at once anyway. i use more than 3 for stuff like descent 3 or freespace. after burner, turning up left/right, while banking left/right, while dropping chaff is sometimes needed. or when i have to hold shift to walk, and move diagonally and jump at same time.

the battle dock is completely useless. can buy an overpriced web cam, or a gimpy ineffective light. i dont see why i should have to hang a light over my keyboard to see the keys. if they can’t have glowing keys, maybe a trim with lights, like it is on some of their mice. or more translucent casing in some areas or glow in the dark paint for letter keys, with the ability to toggle the light. also a little fan or something might be nice, or expandable keyboard memory. and a nice case to carry all that extra baggage.

no lcd display. i liked it on my old g15. would have made a nifty battle dock accessory.

the wrist rest is not removable, or adjustable. all for the sake to have a glowing snake emblem.

no disable windows key button either. have to remap it. i actually use the windows key often, so remapping it is a pain. there is an option for keymap a, keymap b, but, thats only for profiles not stored on keyboard, in other words, not standard. thats because the first 5, which are stored on the keyboard (for the rare case i’d actually drag it’s ultra expensive butt some where else), only can have one keymap. the key maps are basically where i can rebind all the keys on one setting, hit profile and get the b side, with the normal goods. so basically i’d have to carry a flash drive if i want accurate functionality.

my hot fix would be to turn the razor key (which is really the right windows key/menu key) into a windows key, but apparently i cant.

no macros are able to be bound on any other key except the designated special keys. of which have an abysmal macro rate. on my old g15, i could store like 32 characters, this is more like 8. so before i could save entire commands.

tech support, basically almost any question about the functionality of the keyboard = me s.o.l. (and i dont mean satellite of love). They knew how to repair it, but not how to actually make it an acceptable piece of hardware for its high price. nice people though. so its not their fault.

the macros are executed very slowly.

the software only allows executables to be bound to macro keys. in order to bind files, batch files, or whatever, have to get the link manually, and input it into the open window.

over all my old logitech g15 owns this keyboard so badly, that i feel slightly sad i bought it. people might ask, why did i buy a tarantula if i had such a great keyboard. because i rode my old one so hard it started to fall apart. that is after a few years of hard service. one of the few logitech products that actually didnt break within 6 months. only minor annoyances.

the tarantula is not worth buying unless you absolutely need the extra few keys when gaming. if not, get a g15. it has better macro system, lcd display for looking at time, and winamp song. better media buttons, disable windows key switch.

dont misunderstand. this keyboard is actually a good keyboard. i do like razer products. they are overpriced in general, but usually worth having (at discount price). but this is no where near worth 80$, nor is it better than logitechs g15. which is the saddest part? me spending money on it, or the fact that this keyboard could actually dominate the logitech with a few minor changes? instead the tarantula tragically fails.

    }

    5 Stars A professional gamer’s keyboard.
The first thing you should do when you buy this keyboard:

*Download and update the drivers (for Vista, especially).

*Download and update the firmware after updating the drivers.

If you don’t do this you’ll run into compatibility issues with Vista and the keyboard won’t work until Windows loads (i.e. can’t press keys for BIOS or Windows boot menu). The firmware fixes this issue and the drivers that come with the unit are not Vista compatible, so they fail to install properly. A serious gamer is going to download the latest updates anyway, but I wanted to make it clear that the keyboard was originally released for Windows XP and not Vista, so drivers had to be written for Vista.

The functionality of the keyboard consists of 10 customizable keys (5 left, 5 right) that you can set macros on. The keys are backlit and can be changed out for a set of included keys that have various pictures on them (for gaming). On the right are play options for Windows Media Player (and others), shuffle and volume. On the left there is a home key that brings up your default browser. Rotate, zoom and 100% keys can be set to work with the Windows picture viewer, Photoshop and a few others.

The Home, End, Delete, Page Up and Page Down keys take some getting used to as the Delete key is huge and the End key is higher than it normally is. Another thing I noticed is the offset at which I had to place the keyboard in order to type with the home keys. As with any keyboard, it takes time to get used to a key layout and this isn’t an issue in my opinion.

The keyboard takes a minimalist approach to gaming, but caters to the professional gamer with nice programmable features. Some gamers like fancy key layouts and loads of oddball looking gadgets. The Tarantula bypasses the fluff and goes right to the source–giving you what you need as a gamer and not stuffing the keyboard with items that you won’t use anyway.

I changed from a Zboard (which still functions just fine) to this keyboard for a change in pace. If you’re a serious gamer looking for a sleek approach to a gaming keyboard then this is probably going to satisfy your needs.

Razer makes quality products. This is no exception.

    5 Stars Excellent Keyboard
After using serveral other keyboards for gaming, the Tarantula has given me the best results. The keys are responsive and feel robust. Add the Battlelight and be the envy of your friends!

    4 Stars not so spectacular.
It’s an ok keyboard. the looks is great, laptop keys are nice. but the the lights on keys are a bit dim and the keyboard is plain black when not lit. I like looking at my systems when not in use. lol…

    Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard Black

Good intel and proper gear are the keys to victory. With the Logitech G15 keyboard, you get both. Now you can easily discover on which server your friends are playing Battlefield 2142, be notified when your World of Warcraft battleground becomes available and know exactly who’s talking in Ventrilo with the Logitech G15 keyboard’s exclusive GamePanel LCD. You can also create useful macros on the fly that play back with a single press of one of the six G keys. As every key features illuminated characters, with three levels of brightness, you can keep playing late into the night.

    User Ratings and Reviews

3 Stars More style than substance…rated Meh
i had a Lycosa which recently dies, and like the back-lite keys feature. I went looking for another keyboard with this feature that was as comfortable to type on or better. Never buy a keyboard without typing on it at a store, even if you don’t buy it from that store.

The G-15 has a great LCD screen which you’ll hardly ever look at for any of the information that can be displayed out of the box or with most mods I ever checked out. The back lighting is not too shabby, and the key “etching” appears to be done from the back so your letters won’t turn into blobs of light after use like the Lycosa.

My main concern is the key action and how odd the column of “game keys” on the left are. I keep hitting them thinking that I’m striking the tab, caps or control keys. It almost seems that the main keys were made really small so that the foot print of the whole thing wouldn’t get too wide while still adding this row of extra keys that can be used for just about anything.

I like notebook style keyboards and type much better on them so Im gong to be looking elsewhere…but Logitech should be happy to hear that I’ll probably buy the new Ultrathin which types really nice and despite a reviewer discussing key lock, at the speed I type, which I think is pretty fast, I haven’t experienced on any keyboard, including the Ultra thin that I test drove.

Bottom line…this could probably be a great gaming keyboard, but gamers don’t look down at their screen, they’re too busy dodging stuff on the screen! My design recommendation is to ditch the number pad, widen the keys and “uncramp” the layout…and you can afford to make it a little bit wider. Also, I shouldn’t have to work so hard at the keys to type.

Product recommendation…for gamers, check out what Razor has to offer, leave this on the shelf.

    2 Stars Below Average Quality
No problems with software or drivers but beware! over time the keys will wear off and you will be unable to tell which key your typing because of the painted keys for the light to shine through ive had my keyboard for 2-3 years and now about 1/3 the keys are worn off especially the (ASDLMNCEH & ALT) keys.

4 Stars My Grandson loves it.
He especially likes the LCD display and the macro key capability. Arrived on schedule, in time for Christmas.

    5 Stars Awesome Product
The keys are nice and smooth when typing, I love it. The awesome screen is great too. When I’m playing WoW it shows my character’s stats, which is cool ’cause to see it usually I have to push a button, but with the G15 keyboard all I have to do is look down. I also like how the little screen on the keyboard shows my computer’s performance. It’s nice to see how much of my RAM and CPU is being used when I’m playing WoW and Counter-Strike: Source. Also, the lit up keys are great, because sometimes I like to play at night and turn off the light in my room and with the lit up keys it’s really easy to do. Great product, keep up the good work, Logitech!!

5 Stars I love this keyboard
Not too loud, good key layout and feel. I find the LCD useful for quickly monitoring CPU and RAM usage (instead of starting up the task manager). Don’t use it for gaming much, so I can’t say about that part.

The shortcut keys are very useful, I associated mine to quickly start a DOS console, and open up folders I often go to, very practical. The 2 USB ports are useful as well.

Cons: I wish the LCD screen was in color :) Switching between “LCD programs” (like the clock, CPU+RAM monitor) is not very practical so I disable all programs but the CPU+RAM monitor. Also, none of the extra G15 functionality works when you hook it up to a KVM switch (it then acts as a basic keyboard, the LCD screen shows a big “G15″ and that’s it), none of the extra keys work via KVM.
